Cambridge to review A/O level results: minister
LAHORE: Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood says Cambridge International administration will review A and O Levels examination results announced on Aug 11.
He was talking to the media at Aiwan-i-Iqbal after holding a meeting with a delegation of the Serving Schools Association Pakistan on Saturday.
He said the government had contacted the Pakistan’s Director of Cambridge International over awarding poor grades to the students of A and O levels and Cambridge administration had agreed to review the policy.
Mr Mehmood said the Cambridge International administration would submit its reply to the government and would start receiving complaints from the schools during the next week.
Talking about the single national curriculum, he said it was the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and all the provinces had agreed on it after giving their input.He said primary classes curriculum would be implemented from 2021, middle classes from 2022 and for Matric from 2023.
The minister said a financial package for private educational institutions was discussed with the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan and the government would soon announce it.
He said the government was also planning to minimise the commercialisation fee of the small schools and would also provide them with soft loans.
Serving Schools Association Pakistan’s president Mian Razaul Rehman praised the government efforts to introduce a single national curriculum.
