Navy moot reviews geostrategic environment

ISLAMABAD: The Comma­nd and Staff Conference of Pakistan Navy, which review­ed matters related to geostrategic environment, national security, operational preparedness, training and welfare of troops, concluded at the Naval Headquarters here on Wednesday.

The conference was chaired by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi. Field commanders participated in it through video tele-conference from respective field headquarters.

In a statement, the Navel Headquarters said that comprehensive briefings on diverse development projects of the Pakistan Navy were also given to the navy chief.

Reviewing the continued deteriorating security situation in Indian occupied Jammu and Kash­mir, the forum reaffirmed the support for the just and rightful struggle of Kashmiris.

The navy chief express­ed confidence over combat readiness and significant contributions of the navy in the maritime domain.

He emphasised the need for strengthening maritime security and effectively responding to any aggression against Pakistan.

He lauded the initiatives made towards capability development through acquisition of modern technologies. He appreciated the field commanders for the relief operation undertaken in support of the flood-affected people in Sindh.

The conference is the supreme decision making body of Pakistan Navy in which the chief of the naval staff, along with all chiefs of staff, principal staff officers and field comman­ders, undertakes review of Pakistan Navy’s policies and plans.
