Teenage girl found dead in Swabi
SWABI: The body of a teenage girl belonging to Mohmand tribal district was found in the limits of Swabi city police station here on Tuesday.
SHO Farooq Khan told Dawn that the police were informed by locals that body of a girl was lying near the Dagai-Afghan refugee camp road.
He said the girl aged 15 years was strangulated in Rawalpindi, and her body was brought to Swabi. He said the deceased had gone missing from her home in Rawalpindi a few days ago. However, it was not immediately known as to how the killers brought her body to Swabi from Pindi.
The SHO said the body had been shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Swabi, for autopsy. He said the district police would conduct an inquiry into the incident because an FIR had already been registered in a police station in Rawalpindi. He added a team of Pindi police was expected to reach Swabi soon.
SHO Farooq said family of the deceased had been informed about the incident.
Also, five people were injured when two rickshaws collided at Kunda Mor due to over-speeding. The injured were shifted to Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor.
Meanwhile, the police on Tuesday arrested two people for were stealing jewellery and valuables from women. The police also recovered Rs25,000 from them.
