Assets beyond means: NAB summons Rana Sana on 10th
LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah on Sept 10 in an assets beyond means investigation.
The NAB Lahore asked Mr Sanaullah to appear before a combined investigation team of the bureau at its Thokar Niaz Baig office along with the required record.
The PML-N leader has already appeared before the NAB investigators in this case.
A couple of months ago, the watchdog had upgraded the inquiry against Mr Sanaullah into assets beyond means to an investigation after properties worth over Rs400 million owned by him were unearthed. He has been accused of accumulating properties in the name of his relatives.
The NAB had initiated the income beyond means investigation against the former Punjab law minister following his bail in the narcotics case from the Lahore High Court in December. It had also launched a probe against Sanaullah for his alleged role in the change of design of an underpass in his hometown of Faisalabad to benefit some people. Later, it was dropped because of want of evidence.
Rana Sanaullah claims he had disclosed his property in his wealth statement at transaction value, but the NAB was considering it at its current market value and trying to use it to make a new case against him related to income beyond means. He further said that he did not have any fake bank account norbenamiproperty.
The NAB has also summoned PML-N leaders from Gujranwala – Azhar Qayyum Nahra and his brother Muddasir Qayyum Nahra – for Sept 11 at its Lahore office for allegedly possessing assets beyond their known sources of income.
