Multi-party conference will fail: Sheikh Rashid

RAWALPINDI: Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said on Thursday that the opposition’s multi-party conference (MPC) will fail because they will not be able to give Prime Minister Imran Khan a tough time.

The PTI government will complete this year as the year of service to people, he said, after laying the foundation stone for the Rs800 million renovation of District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Raja Bazaar.

The ceremony was attended by PTI MNA Sheikh Rashid Shafique, Raja Rashid Hafiz and Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) Vice Chancellor Prof Mohammad Umar along with doctors and officials from the health department.

Speaking to the press, Sheikh Rashid said the government under Mr Khan’s leadership is paying attention to issues related to public health. It is taking concrete steps to improve the healthcare system so people receive better medical care in government hospitals, he said, adding that Punjab Chief Minister Usman Khan Buzdar will soon visit Rawalpindi.

He said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif did nothing for the betterment of the country and the people, and his daughter Maryam Nawaz was also trying to fly to the United Kingdom to meet her father.

“Prime Minister Imran Khan will complete his five-year term,” he said.
