Fluctuation in Covid-19 cases continues

ISLAMABAD: A decline was seen in new Covid-19 cases in the capital on Monday, as 30 cases were reported compared to 73 on Sunday.

Officials said there was still fluctuation in the number of confirmed cases. However, the number of positive cases during the last couple of weeks remained higher compared to last month.

Six of the new cases were reported from G-7, three each from I-8 and F-6, two each from DHA II, PWD, G-9, F-10, Bhara Kahu and one each from Kurri Road, Tarlai, Alipur, Pakistan Town, G-10, F-8, F-11 and E-11.

Rawalpindi

With nine more people tested positive for Covid-19, the number of confirmed patients in Rawalpindi district reached 6,293. One Covid-19 patient died in the city on Monday.

Of the 6,293 patients, 5,880 have been discharged while 288 people have died.

A senior official said currently nine Covid-19 patients were admitted to the Rawalpindi Institute of Urology. As many as 116 suspected patients are isolated at home and 319 others quarantined.

He said 4,089 people, who had either been on isolation or quarantine, have now recovered.

The suspected patients are being monitored by health authorities and most of the people who had been asked to isolate themselves at home did not have symptoms.

A few serious patients are in hospitals and two wards at Holy Family Hospital and Benazir Bhutto Hospital are accommodating suspected patients. However, no house or street has been sealed in the last two months.
