Advises young lawyers to also study history and philosophy along with law

Chief Justice Ahmed advised the young lawyers to also study history and philosophy along with law which would help them in understanding legal issues and increasing their knowledge.

He said that most of the cases disposed of in subordinate courts with the satisfaction of the clients did not reach the superior courts. However, he said, the subordinate courts faced burden due to high number of cases, but there should be no space for mistakes in their judgements so that clients could get justice.

The CJP said the prime objective was to restore the confidence of public and complainants in the judicial system and this could be made possible by providing justice purely on merit. He said steps had been taken to fill the vacant posts of judges in courts so that cases under trial could be decided speedily.

He emphasised that a successful judicial system was possible only through full dedication of judicial officers.

The CJP said the legal fraternity had played a very important role in ensuring the supremacy of law and justice and rendered enormous sacrifices for restoration of democracy and free judiciary. Their role in this regard could not be ignored, he added.

He said economic and social justice was indispensable for development of any society and lawyers should play their role in a more effective manner for the provision of justice to the common man and discourage a culture of strikes and extend their help to ensure smooth functioning of court procedures, which would enable the complainants to get justice without any delay.

Referring to the training of Balochistan’s young lawyers, the CJP said the process would continue in Judicial Academy, Islamabad, and in this regard he would issue directives to the authorities concerned.

He lauded the renovation work on the district courts building.

BHC Chief Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, while speaking at the books distribution ceremony, said that with the renovation of district courts, the building got historical shape. He said that providing such atmosphere and facilities was also imperative along with the provision of justice which he had felt during practice as a lawyer in the district courts. He thanked CJP Ahmed for participating in the ceremony.
