Attenborough sets Instagram record

The Guinness Book of World Records said David Attenborough, the 94-year-old broadcaster and natural historian, set a new record for the fastest time to reach one million followers on Instagram. He reached one million followers four hours and 44 minutes after sharing his first post, and had over 3.1 million followers as of the next day’s morning.

As his first post, David Attenborough explained his decision to join Instagram in a video.

“I’m making this move and exploring this new way of communication to me, because as we all know, the world is in trouble,” Attenborough says. “Continents are on fire. Glaciers are melting. Coral reefs are dying. Fish are disappearing from our oceans. The list goes on and on. But we know that to do about it, and that’s why I’m tackling this new way, for me, of communication,” he adds.

Tom Hardy, the new Bond?

Bond. James Bond. It’s the role of a lifetime for many actors, the very definition of an iconic role that has cemented the legacy of the likes of Sir Roger Moore and Sean Connery – who was voted the best ever Bond.

The iconic 007 has been portrayed by (00)7 actors in total so far – with Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig having assumed the role. Daniel Craig is the latest Bond, with his final outing as the suave spy in No Time to Die set to be released on November 12 after months of delays due to coronavirus.

But who would replace him? Rumours have broken out that Venom actor Tom Hardy had been confirmed to be given 007 role, though no official word has been given yet. Hardy, 43, has plenty of experience with high-octane, action-packed movies having starred in Mad Max: Fury Road and Venom.
