PDM yet to be granted rally permission

GUJRANWALA: The local chapter of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has announced taking out the Hub-i-Pakistan Rally on Oct 16 in Gujranwala, the day when the PDM will hold its first public meeting in the city.

The situation has created problems for the administration and police as there is a danger of clash between the two sides.

Reports say the PDM has sought permission from the administration to hold the rally at the Jinnah Stadium, which the administration has not granted so far.

Local PTI leader Younis Ansari told reporters their rally would start from Aziz Crossing at Pindi bypass and conclude at Sheranwala Bagh. He said the local leaders and activists of the PTI and different religious organisations would attend the rally. It will be addressed by leaders at different places.

PML-N MPA Taufeeq Ahmad Butt and former deputy mayor Khalid Salman Pomi said the PDM meeting would be held at any cost.

Both sides are preparing for their power show and there would be a big match of advertisement also. In can create political tensions in the city.

According to sources, the administration will not allow both the PDM and the PTI to hold their shows.
