Man killed over ownership of street in Swabi
SWABI: A man was killed and a passer-by boy suffered bullet injuries when two families clashed over ownership of a street in Jamalabad village here on Thursday, said police.
When contacted, relatives of the two families told this correspondent that their women clashed with each other in the morning and later their male members also plunged into the rivalry, but a local jirga separated them and prevented the clash.
However, at noon the male members of the two families clashed again and opened firing on each other. As a result, Ibrar Ali was killed on the spot and a passer-by Fahad Ali, 8, suffered injuries.
He was taken to Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor.
When contacted, SHO Farooq Khan said an FIR had not been registered as yet.
SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead on Thursday in front of the Swabi Judicial Complex, a high security zone where police mostly remain alert.
Sources said that two motorcyclists opened fire on Rozi Aman of Kadi village when he stepped out of the judicial complex after attending a case hearing in a local court.
He was seriously injured and taken to Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor, where doctors pronounced him dead.
The two attackers soon escaped on their motorcycles while dodging the security officials present on duty. The cause of the incident was stated to be an old enmity.
Brother of the deceased has registered an FIR in Zaida police station against Bahadar Ali and Asad Khan.
Also in the day, son of Dr Pazir Khan died when his motorcycle was hit by a truck on Swabi-Topi road near the DC office, said police.
The victim identified as Arif Khan hailed from Bamkhel village. An FIR has been registered in Swabi city police station against the truck driver.
