Cook-it-yourself: Oreo brownies

Brownies are one of the first things most of us bake when starting out with baking. It is easy to make in the sense that its texture can be both dense and crumbly, and the top has a crust-like like cracked look, so even if you go wrong somewhere, you can get away with it.

So when I made this Oreo brownie the first time, its texture was very crumbly. But the next time, when I added fewer Oreo biscuits, it was better and didn’t fall off into crumbs like the first time. As for the taste, it was awesome both times, after all, Oreos and chocolate are a magic combination that can’t go wrong.

So this is a very simple recipe, with just four ingredients — Oreos, chocolate, milk and baking powder. And is very easy to mix and quick to bake. So let’s check it out!

Ingredients:

• 22 Oreos

• 3/4 tsp baking powder

• 1/2 cup milk

• 100 grams melted chocolate

Method

Keep two Oreos aside to spread on top of the batter later, and powder the rest of the Oreos in a mixer grinder or food processor. Melt cooking chocolate in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds. Add milk to the chocolate and mix to combine. You can also use any milk chocolate in place of cooking chocolate too.

Add the melted chocolate and the chocolate mixture to powdered Oreos in the food processor and mix to a smooth batter. Grease a square small baking pan, or line it with baking paper. Pour mixture in the baking pan, top with crushed pieces of two Oreos and bake 18o degrees C for 25 to 30 minutes in the middle rack.

When a toothpick inserted comes out clean and the brownies separate from the side of the pan, it means it is done.

Take out from the oven and let it rest for five minutes or so. I drizzled chocolate spread on top to add to the flavour of these delectable brownies. Totally delicious!
