N’s estranged MPA terms his manhandling anti-Sharia

LAHORE: PML-N MPA Mian Jalil Sharaqpuri has demanded the party leadership act against MPA Mian Rauf for allegedly manhandling him at the Punjab Assembly last Friday, terming the act of his party colleague ‘unconstitutional’ and ‘anti-Sharia’.

Talking to the media here on Sunday, the estranged PML-N MPA said if no action was taken against Rauf, it would imply he acted at the behest of the party leadership.

Mian Rauf had placed a plastic lota on the head of Mr Sharaqpuri when he turned up to attend the assembly session on Friday. Slogans were also raised against him for apparently calling on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

Arguing that political parties should tolerate difference of views, Mr Sharaqpuri claimed he was not interested in getting the PML-N ticket for the 2018 election and he had accepted the offer only on insistence of ex-federal minister Rana Tanveer and the party president Shahbaz Sharif.

He said he had responded to the show-cause notice issued by the party but was unaware that the PML-N had formally shunted him out of the party, saying he had not received any written document in this respect.

SHEIKHUPURA: Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mehmoodur Rasheed called on PML-N’s estranged MPA Mian Jalil Sharaqpuri at Sharaqpur.

The minister expressed solidarity with Mian Jalil over the insulting and unethical behaviour of his party legislators towards him. He termed the behaviour of the PML-N MPAs uncivilised and immoral.

Mian Jalil while talking to the media said he would decide his political future as soon as possible.

On a question, he said time was over for any chance of reconciliation with the PML-N leadership.
