Hyderabad transport
PUBLIC transportation is one of the basic facilities that the state is supposed to provide to the masses. Hyderabad, the second largest city of Sindh and the eighth largest in the country, has unfortunately been without public transport for decades.
Historically, Hyderabad was one of the main cities under the British and the transportation system at that time was among the best in the subcontinent. However, today rickshaws and small pickups are the only major source of public transport and the condition of these vehicles are extremely pathetic.
With an ever-growing population, the absence of a decent public transport system is a major inconvenience for residents. Besides, the deplorable condition of these vehicles is often the cause of accidents and traffic jams in the city.
Those concerned should introduce adequate public transport facilities in Hyderabad.
