HYDERABAD: SHC dismisses appeal

HYDERABAD, Sept 28: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad bench, has dismissed a petition challenging rejection of nomination papers of a candidate by the returning officer.

The bench comprising Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Justice Mohammad Moosa K. Leghari dismissed on Wednesday the petition filed by Ghulam Rasool Shah on the grounds that he produced fake secondary school certificate for contesting the local body elections.

The returning officer had rejected his nomination papers for the post of Umerkot taluka nazim after scrutiny and found that the BISE record was tampered.—Correspondent
