PHC judges inspect quarantine facility in Peshawar prison
PESHAWAR: Two senior judges of the Peshawar High Court visited the Peshawar Central Prison here in view of the emerging situation of Covid-19 fresh wave and issued different directives to the concerned officials.
According to a press release issued here, administrative judge for prisons Justice Roohul Amin Khan and Justice Lal Jan Khattak inspected the quarantine barracks of Covid-19 patients and showed their satisfaction over the SOPs and protocols formulated for the purpose.
The judges visited all the barracks, including that of juvenile prisoners, and talked to the inmates on different aspects. They issued directions to the district and sessions judges, senior civil judges and civil judges cum judicial magistrates concerned to deal with petty nature cases specially that of female and juvenile under-trial prisoners on priority.
Complaints received by the judges from the prisoners were handed over to the district and sessions judges for remedial action in order to reduce congestion in the prison.
The judges also inspected overall hygiene conditions of jail premises and identified certain areas of improvement. They observed that cleanliness in jail barracks should be taken care of especially in view of Covid-19 pandemic.
