Laws for Kohsar University approved

MURREE: The first meeting of Kohsar University Murree syndicate was held in its admin block and relevant laws were approved.

The institution has been allowed to initiate and conduct regular work.

The meeting was chaired by Provincial Minister for Higher Education Raja Yasir Sarfraz, MNA Sadaqat Ali Abbasi and Vice Chancellor Dr Nadeem Abbasi.

Other members of the syndicate were also present, including MPA Maj Latasib Satti, Abida Raja, former federal secretary Zafeer Abbasi, vice chancellor of Waqarun Nisa University, pro-vice chancellors of Rawalpindi Women University and Riphah University, representatives of Higher Education Commission (HEC), provincial finance, law and education ministries.

Speaking on the occasion, Sadaqat Abbasi said his biggest dream and the reason he entered into politics was to establish educational institutions in his constituency.

He congratulated students and parents of Murree, Kotli Sattian, Hazara and Kashmir while assuring them that this university will be an example in terms of standards, adding that colleges in the region will soon be affiliated with Kohsar University for the convenience of parents and students.

Mr Sarfraz said the university would be included in the list of major universities of the country and its tourism and hospitality department will be prominent in the country.
