MARDAN: Reopening of public library demanded

MARDAN, Oct 1: People have demanded the reopening of a public library which was closed three months ago. The library was closed when one Jehangir stabbed one Ismail in front of the DHQ hospital here over a minor incident. Ismail later died at the hospital.

The police had arrested the accused on the spot, but was set free allegedly after ‘a deal’, which infuriated the relatives of the victim and they ransacked the library to the protest against police highhandedness.

Later, the library was closed for public and the librarian, Anwar Jalal, lodged an FIR against three intruders but police failed to arrest them.
