Khursheed Shah challenges NAB’s final reference against him
SUKKUR: The Sukkur bench of the Sindh High Court on Wednesday summoned the National Accountability Bureau’s officials concerned to appear in court on Dec 2 and explain why the bureau was filing an additional reference in accountability court against Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party.
Khursheed Shah, who filed a constitutional petition in the court through his counsel Mian Raza Rabbani and Mukesh Kumar, said that a reference filed by NAB in the Sukkur accountability court was being heard for the past 15 months but it had not been declared final reference.
And now NAB was filing another reference in court which was not in accordance with relevant law, he said.
Therefore, he said, the court should stop NAB from filing the final reference and continue hearing of the earlier reference.
Khursheed Shah faces charges of amassing Rs1.23 billion worth assets beyond known means of income. Besides him, one of his wives, son and a nephew (son-in-law) among 13 other accused, are nominated in the NAB reference.
