Zafarullah Jamali laid to rest
QUETTA/SUKKUR: Thousands of people, including politicians and tribal elders, offered funeral prayers for former prime minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali in his native village Rojhan Jamali on Thursday.
The coffin of Mr Jamali, who died in the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology, Rawalpindi, on Wednesday night, was shifted to Islamabad where an army contingent presented a salute to the deceased. The body was then shifted to Jacobabad in a special flight from where it was taken to Rojhan Jamali in Balochistan in an ambulance.
Prominent among those who attended the funeral prayers were former chief minister of Balochistan Jan Mohammad Jamali, provincial ministers Saleem Khan Khoso and Sikandar Khan Umrani, MNA Khan Mohammad Jamali, Sardar Sakhi Shah Nawaz Umrani, former Sindh minister Sardar Manzoor Panhwar, Nawabzada Jaffar Khan Magsi, Sardar Sakhi Abdul Razzak Khoso, Sardar Sherdil Khan Mugheri and Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Sarki.
Leaders and workers of political parties, social welfare, religious, traders and other organisations were also present.
President Dr Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Army Chief Gen Qamar Jawed Bajwa, PPP chairman Bilwal Bhutto-Zardari, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister on Prisons Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani and others have expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali and prayed that his soul may rest in peace.
