Rs12bn to be spent on 56 schemes in Attock

TAXILA: Provincial Minister for revenue retired Col Mohammad Anwar Khan on Saturday said an amount of Rs12 billion would be spent on 56 different development schemes in Attock this fiscal year.

He was talking to newsmen after chairing a meeting of the district development committee in Attock.

Punjab Assembly Member Jamshaid Altaf, Deputy Commissioner Ali Anan Qammar, additional deputy commissioner finance Zaigham Nawaz Chaudhry besides officials of different government departments were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, presiding over the meeting, the minister emphasised the need for completing the development projects within the stipulated time period without compromising quality of work.

He directed the officials concerned to maintain effective financial discipline besides directing that the allocated budget be effectively utilized.

He said the present government wanted to give maximum facilities to the people and these schemes when completed will surely be beneficial for the people.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ali Anan Qammar while briefing the minister he said that the as many as 20 schemes of public health, 16 different schemes of roads rehabilitation, two projects of establishment of special education centres, four projects of new government buildings, one of livestock, one project of Rescue 1122 centre, four schemes of sports, four of irrigation, one of higher education, one of tourism development and two schemes are related to local government would be completed during the current fiscal year.

He further informed the minister that work on the under completion schemes was in full swing and would be completed as per schedule time of completion.
