PPP will hold central committee meeting to authenticate resignations
Similarly, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz provincial president Amir Muqam said that he had collected resignations from his party lawmakers.
He told a press conference here on Wednesday that his party was playing active role to get the nation rid of the ‘incompetent’ government, which made life of people miserable through price hike and unemployment.
The PPP spokesperson also expressed dissatisfaction over the inquiry report about the tragic incident of Khyber Teaching Hospital wherein several patients had died for want of oxygen.
She demanded resignation of Dr Faisal Sultan, the special assistant to prime minister on health, and Dr Nausherwan Burki to ensure a transparent probe.
She said that government was trying to divert attention of the people from the tragic incident. She said that patients had died due to ‘criminal’ negligence of the hospital’s Board of Governors and suspension of other staff members was just eyewash.
MNA Nafeesa said that the public meetings of PDM had baffled the rulers, who were worried to counter the opposition but were unable to do so. She said that PDM had made very crucial decisions to ensure ouster of the government within shortest possible time. She added that PPP would enforce the decisions after approval by its central executive committee.
Senator Rubina Khalid said that Dr Nausherwan Burki was architect of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa healthcare system and he should be held responsible for any mishap like that of KTH case. She said that BoGs failed to ensure renewal of the contract for supply of oxygen cylinders to the hospitals which proved that health department was doing nothing for welfare of patients.
She said that Dr Faisal Sultan used to preside over meetings of KTH but he did not fulfil his duty and a tragic incident took place in the hospital. She also talked about problems of coronavirus patients and said that government was not serious to ensure their proper treatment.
