Squash: Deaf squad refused visa

LAHORE, Oct 3: The Australian High Commission in Islamabad has refused to issue visas to the Pakistan deaf squash women and men’s teams which were to participate in the third World Deaf squash championship to be held in Australia later this month.

President Pakistan Deaf Squash Association Dr Khalid Jamil said that they had applied for visas for four men, two women players and two officials but the High Commission office refused.

The president said that his association would take up the matter with the world body.

Similarly, the US embassy had refused visas to the Pakistan badminton team which was to take part in the World Championship in the US.
