Law enforcers raid PML-N leaders’ house
GUJRANWALA: Police with the Anti-Corruption Establishment and the Federal Investigation Agency raided the residence of PML-N MPA Imran Khalid Butt and city president Sulman Khalid, alias Pomi Butt, here on Tuesday. Both were, however, were not home.
The teams broke open the main gate of the house and manhandled women and children. This is the third raid at the house in recent days.
PML-N leaders Ghulam Dastagir Khan, Muhammad Shoaib Butt, Amir Akram Butt and others condemned the raid and said cases against them would not prolong the government tenure.
COURT: District and Sessions Judge Hamayum Imtaiz sentenced on Tuesday two years and nine months imprisonment to Waseem Hafeez in an electricity theft case.
The report said the convict, the owner of a furnace steel mill in Lohianwala, tampered with the meter.
A Gepco team caught him red handed and got registered a case against him.
POLICE: The Ghakhar Mandi police recovered on Tuesday six Kalashnikovs and other automatic weapons from two suspects and registered a case against them.
City Police Officer Sarfraz Ahmad Falki directed the police to take action against illegal weapons.
A team seized two pistols from Asharf and Azhar during checking and the suspects led the police to the recovery of other weapons.
ACE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) got on Tuesday another three days remand of PML-N leader Muddassar Qayyum Nahra in a land grabbing case.
The ACE produced Nahra in the ACE court. He was arrested for illegal possession of 267 kanals of the government.
