Rape suspect in Kasur turns out to be habitual offender
KASUR: A man who was arrested for raping a minor girl, and confessed to have molested four other minors, had been twice booked over rape bids, but was allegedly pardoned by the complainants’ families, who were his relatives.
According to Sara-i-Mughal police, the 45-year-suspect arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl, admitted to have attempted rape of four other minors.
The police said that during investigation, it transpired that the suspect, a resident of Nankana Sahib, used to be a rickshaw driver but later started working at a brick kiln where he would molest minor girls.
The police said that while residing at Nankana Sahib, the suspect had allegedly injured his uncle’s wife for refusing to have relations with him.
He was booked by police, but was set free after the complainant’s family pardoned him. Similarly, he was arrested for torturing his brother’s wife for not having relations with him, but was released by police after the complainants withdrew the charges.
The police said they were trying to obtain the criminal record of the suspect from Nankana Sahib.
