Pakistanis invited to invest in Djibouti
GWADAR: The president of the National Assembly of Djibouti, Mohammad Ali Houmed has invited the Pakistani industrialists and businessmen to visit his country and explore opportunities to invest there and boost bilateral trade.
Speaking at the China Business Centre during his visit to Gwadar on Saturday, Mr Houmed, who is also acting chairman of the African Union Parliament, said that Gwadar deep sea port had great importance because it was located at an important trade route which could change the economic situation of the entire region.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the Gwadar Port Authority Naseer Ahmed Kashni said that Gwadar port had become fully operational and it was ideal for prompting trade and business in the region.
He said Gwadar port could be a guarantor for promoting shipping trade for the investors of the entire world due to its economic importance and trade route.
Director General of the Gwadar Development Authority Shahzeb Kakar said that work was in progress speedily to turn Gwadar into an important modern industrial city and the authority was working under the Gwadar Master Plan for developing free economic zones.
He said the Gwadar port would be linked to the Coastal Highway as the work on East Expressway would be completed soon.
President of the Gwadar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Naveed Kalmati, Senator Kuhda Babar, Commissioner of Makran division Tariq Qamar, Deputy Commissioner of Gwadar retired Major Abdul Kabir and other officials concerned were also present on the occasion.
The delegation visited Gwadar port during its stay in the port city.
