DADU: DSP, two cops among six injured in clash
DADU, Oct 6: A DSP, two constables and three ADP councillors received bullet injuries in the Jamshoro district on Thursday in a clash between supporters of Jalal Mehmood Shah and Malik Asad Sikandar at the higher secondary school polling station in Thana Bula Khan.
Jalal Shah and Malik Sikandar were the district nazim candidates of the Sindh Dost Panel and the Awam Dost Panel respectively.
Nooriabad DSP Humair Khan Bhangwar, constables Safar and Manthar, ADP councillors Jawed Khan Khaskheli, Bajar Khan and Mohammad Yousuf were injured in the clash.
Mr Sikandar alleged that the police officials were supporting the government-backed candidate, Jalal Mehmood Shah.
He said that police had snatched the identity card from the ADP councillor, Bajar Khan, when he refused to cast his vote in favour of Jalal Shah.
On the other hand Mr Shah said that the ADP candidates were using fake ballot papers at the polling station of government girls’ college, Kotri.
The ADP candidate for the Kotri taluka nazim, Abdul Rehman, denied the allegations levelled by Mr Shah.
KILLING: Five unidentified persons shot dead Imdad Hussain Pirzada, 35, in the TB colony of Dadu on Wednesday.
ZAKAT DISTRIBUTION: Cheques of Zakat were distributed among 200 poor people belonging to Johi, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Mehar and Dadu talukas.
The federal minister for water and power distributed the cheques.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Jatoi said the federal government was paying attention to eradicate poverty and small projects would be started in the district from zakat money.
He said instalments of zakat and other allowances would be paid to the affected.
