Faisalabad win inaugural Punjab inter-division games

LAHORE: Faisalabad with 630 points won the inaugural Quaid-i-Azam Sports Open Inter-Division Games here on Friday.

The three-day event concluded with a closing ceremony at the Punjab Stadium with provincial minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti awarded the prizes.

Lahore Division earned the second position with 593 points, while Gujranwala placed at third place with 293 points. Sahiwal (188) finished fourth ahead of Rawalpindi (95) and Sargodha (84).

A cash prize of Rs1,860,000 and 246 medals were awarded among the position holders of all the event.

Archery:

Para-Archery Individual: 1. Qasim Tahir (Faisalabad) 323 points; 2. Abdul Ghafoor (Faisalabad) 248; Faisal Nawaz (Faisalabad) 158.

Blind Archery: 1. Faizan Khattak (Rawalpindi) 487; 2. Tanveer Ahmed (Rawalpindi) 441; 3. Waleed Aziz (Rawalpindi) 434.

Boys team event: 1. Faisalabad; 2. Gujranwala; 3. Sargodha.

Girls team event: 1. Faisalabad; 2. Lahore; 3. Multan.

Athletics:

Women’s team position: 1. Faisalabad (155); 2. Lahore (120); 3. Rawalpindi (42).

Men’s team position: 1. Sahiwal (154); 2. Faisalabad (80); 3. Gujranwala (67).

Cycling:

Women’s 1km Team Sprint:1. Amna, Aasia, Malika (Lahore); 2. Iqra, Hira, Misha (Faisalabad); 3. Rabia, Ghazala, Areej (Sargodha).

Men’s Elimination Race: 1. Masood (Faisalabad); 2. Aaqib (Lahore); 3. Shareef (Lahore).

Women’s Elimination Race: 1. Aasia (Lahore); 2. Iqra Naz (Faisalabad); 3. Amna (Lahore).

Tennis:

Women’s Team Event final: Lahore bt Multan 2-0.

Men’s Team Event final: Lahore bt Multan 1-0.

Badminton:

Men’s Team Event Final: Gujranwala bt Rawalpindi by 3-1.
