‘Missing’ boy found bludgeoned to death

KARACHI: A 13-year-old boy, who was missing since Friday, was found bludgeoned to death in Manghopir on Saturday.

The police said the tortured body was found from a plot in Altaf Nagar, Sector 11 Orangi Town.

The body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The boy had been killed with some heavy object hit on his head.

West SSP Suhai Aziz, who visited the crime scene and the hospital, said the murder investigation of the boy was under way from all aspects.

“A forensics team is collecting evidence from the scene of the crime. A few suspects are in custody.”

The MLO examination of the body has been done. However, the police were waiting for doctors’ final report to confirm whether the boy was subjected to criminal assault before the murder.

SSP Aziz revealed that the boy had been missing since 9pm on Friday and his family had lodged a police report to this effect.

The boy had gone to meet his friend in the area and the police had taken some people into custody for interrogation from the house.
