Govt accused of using health cards for politics

SWABI: Awami National Party leaders said here on Saturday that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leaders had been doing politics on Sehat cards, violating the principles of democratic rule.

In a party meeting here, Mukhtiar Khan, former adviser to then chief minister, said that distribution of the health cards to the district people was first inaugurated by the chief minister in Peshawar, and later he and the National Assembly speaker repeated the same process again in Razaar tehsil.

He said that a gathering for the Sehat cards distribution was held in Topi tehsil on Saturday.

“This is Sehat card politics. We oppose these tactics of misleading the people,” he said.

Party’s district president Amanullah Khan said that huge boards had been displayed in the district on all roads wherein people were told that it was only the PTI government that provided them the health facilities.

Nawab Zada, party’s district general secretary, said the government had distributed the health cards, but the masses were well aware of the record price hike, breakdown of law and order, sugar scandal, unemployment and the menace of corruption.

Other local ANP activists claimed the people were misled by the PTI leaders during general elections.
