Shazia lambasts Shibli, says he’s hiding govt’s ‘failures’

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) secretary information Shazia Atta Marri in a rejoinder to Information Minister Shibli Faraz has said that he wants to hide the incapability and failures of this “selected government” on every front.

She was responding to a press conference of Mr Faraz and Farrukh Habib on Sunday.

At the press conference, the minister spoke about funding details of the parties which are included in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and criticised its plan to hold a protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan on Jan 19. Mr Faraz said that it was a sorry attempt by the PDM.

He also urged the opposition parties to present details of their party funds and made it public. He said the PTI provided all details of 40,000 people who gave donations to the ruling party, but the opposition parties should tell the people about its funding.

In a statement, Ms Marri said that the ‘selected’ government failed to provide any relief to the masses. “Prime Minister Imran Khan got his own illegal palace regularised in Banigala but snatched roof from the poor people in the name of encroachment,” she said.

“The Goebbels of selected government, Shibli Faraz, instead of criticising the opposition should tell the truth to people about the bad performance of the government. This incapable government has made the lives of common people miserable,” she added.

If the PTI had not done anything wrong in the foreign funding case then why it was shying away from facing the Election Commission of Pakistan, she asked. She said the PPP record is without blemish.

She said the PTI had admitted its wrongdoing in the foreign funding case and now it was trying to put the blame on others. “Imran Khan is living on the black money of his cronies. Shibli Faraz does not tell anything about Abraaj Group which is Imran Khan’s sponsor. Imran Khan is minting money through his front man in every ministry,” she alleged.
