Officials said an Afghan national, Aftab, was carrying 198,500 Afghan currency in his personal belongings while going back to his country.
Meanwhile, slow customs clearance of export and Afghan Transit Trade goods at Torkham hampered the flow of traffic across the border, transporters complained on Wednesday.
They said that hundreds of loaded trucks remained stranded on Pakistan side along the Peshawar-Torkham Highway at several locations, resulting in congestion at the border crossing.
They demanded accelerated goods clearance.
