Swabi varsity’s website hacked twice in a week

SWABI: The official website of the University of Swabi has been hacked by an Indian hacker, said a varsity official here on Saturday.

Talking to Dawn, the official said it was the second time that the varsity’s website had been hacked by the same hacker in a week.

“The objective of the hacker is not known, but after the earlier hack the varsity management had contacted the company with whom it had the agreement, and the website was restored after a few days,” said Numan Khan, a university spokesperson.

He said once again they had complained to the officials of the company, hoping the website would be restored within 48 hours.

Other officials said at present their all links through the website had disconnected and the university was not in a position to pass vital messages to the faculty and students.

They said the university should find a permanent solution to the issue because it had repeatedly occurred creating a disturbed situation for the management and students.

Meanwhile, a local jirga on Saturday resolved a three-year-old blood feud between two families led by Gul Bahadur and Abid-ur-Rehman.

A clash had occurred between the families over a land dispute in Baja village, in which one member of the Abid’s family was killed and five others were injured.

The case is pending in the Peshawar High Court after being heard by a local court.

However, jirga members called the jirga with the mutual consent of the families, and got them to reconcile.
