PMC increases seats in Mardan medical colleges
MARDAN: Officials of the Medical Teaching Institute (MTI) Mardan on Friday claimed the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) had approved enhancing seats for Bacha Khan Medical College (BKMC) and Bacha Khan College of Dentistry (BKCD), Mardan.
They said the PMC on the request of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and in the light of the recommendations of the Khyber Medical University’s (KMU) inspection team had approved 100 per cent enhancement in the seats.
The PMC has increased the bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery (MBBS) seats for the BKMC from previous 50 to 100 and bachelor of dental surgery (BDS) seats for BKCD from 25 to 50, respectively, they said, adding the commission had also approved 10 per cent increase in seats for other public sector medical colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
They said the KMU inspection team visited the BKMC and BKCD to carry out an assessment survey in order to increase the number of MBBS and BDS seats for the two medical colleges.
