Uzair Baloch acquitted in two more murder cases

KARACHI: A sessions court (South) on Friday acquitted chief of the outlawed Peoples Amn Committee Uzair Jan Baloch in two murder cases for want of evidence.

The PAC chief, who is nominated in around 60 criminal cases pending trial before different sessions and antiterrorism courts, has so far been acquitted in six cases ever since the army transferred his custody after he was convicted of ‘espionage’ by a military court.

On Friday, an additional district and sessions judge (South) pronounced his verdict reserved after recording evidence and final arguments from both sides.

The judge noted that the prosecution failed to prove charges against accused Uzair Baloch and his accomplice. He exonerated them of the charges due to lack of evidence.

The court directed prison authorities to release both the men forthwith if their custody was not required in any other case.
