NAB files reference over illegal allotment of state land

QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Balochistan, filed a reference in an accountability court here on Friday against seven people allegedly involved in illegal allotment of government land and its sale.

A spokesman for NAB, Balochistan, said that the precious state land in Sibi district was illegally allotted by the revenue officials to some private persons who sold it out in the market, causing a Rs117.9 million loss to the national exchequer.

According to the spokesman, an investigation conducted by a NAB team revealed that Mohammad Aslam Gishkori, a former councillor of Sibi district, in 2010 applied for issuance of an attestation certificate of ownership of a piece of government land occupied by his father Dili Jan Gishkori in 1982 through an illegal order issued by the revenue authorities of Sibi.

Subsequently, the then tehsil municipal officer of Sibi, Azad Khan Khajjak, by misusing his authority illegally issued the certificate.

The said certificate was used by Mohammad Aslam for entering inteqal in revenue record in connivance with officials of the settlement staff.
