Governor lauds US role in Pakistan’s economic progress

LAHORE: Governor Chaudhry Sarwar has lauded the role of the United States in Pakistan’s economic development and prosperity, saying that bilateral ties between Pakistan and the US were getting stronger with each passing day.

He was talking to US Consul General in Lahore Catherine Rodriguez who called on him at the Governor’s House on Thursday.

Mr Sarwar hoped that US President Joe Biden would play his role in resolving the Kashmir issue. He said India’s warmongering and atrocities on Kashmiris were posing a serious threat to peace in the region and regional peace was not possible unless the Kashmir issue was resolved.

The governor said Pakistan’s armed forces and people had rendered great sacrifices in war against terrorism and for the establishment of peace.

He informed the guest that the government was creating new special economic zones for foreign investors in Punjab where all measures were being taken to ensure provision of all facilities, including security.

Catherine Rodriguez while appreciating Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism said the US was fully supporting Pakistan in all sectors, including education and health. She said the US would continue to do so in the future as well.

Meets American consul general

KASHMIR DAY: Governor Chaudhry Sarwar, in his message on Kashmir Solidarity Day, said the people of Pakistan would continue to raise the voice for the Kashmiris at all international forums. He said he had always highlighted Indian atrocities on innocent Kashmiris and human rights violations in the held Kashmir at international forums.He said the world community should play its role to stop human rights violations in Kashmir.

CM: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar says the whole nation is standing side by side with the oppressed people of India held Kashmir as Pakistan and Kashmir are identical twins.

In a statement, he said there was no justification of global silence on the martyrdom of innocent Kashmiris in the held Kashmir. He said India would have to be answerable for its barbarities.
