Flopping Fish toy is winning over cats

If you own a furry friend, chances are that you also have a lot of toys for him or her. But for a toy to truly steal the attention of a cat who might very well rather be taking a nap, you need to call in the best of the best.

Potaroma’s Electric Flopping Fish Toy has had hundreds of enthusiastic reviews left by shoppers who’ve already snagged it for their cats. An overall best-seller, the hyper-realistic fish are stealing the attention — and hearts — of cats and amused owners everywhere.

Since it has a built-in motion sensor, the fish begins to wiggle as soon as your cat approaches. Its designated catnip pouch takes play up to another notch by keeping your cat busy and entertained.

Japanese arcade with most claw crane machines

A video game arcade in Japan was awarded a Guinness World Record for the largest number of claw crane machine games in one venue: 477.

Genda Sega Entertainment announced Sega Shinjuku Kabukicho, the company’s arcade in the Kabukicho district of Tokyo, was awarded the Guinness record after installing 477 “UFO Catcher” claw crane games in its facility.

The arcade took the record from Taito Station in Fuchu, Tokyo, which boasted 454 of the machines. The arcade reopened in late December and is dedicated exclusively to claw crane machines, with sections marked off according to prize categories.

A Bigfoot hunting season

Rep. Justin Humphrey, R-District 19, Oklahoma, introduced a bill to the state legislature that would call on the Oklahoma Wildlife Commission to designate a hunting season for one of the state’s most infamous species of alleged native wildlife: Bigfoot.

The mythical ape has been the subject of numerous sightings in southern Oklahoma for years, and the region hosts an annual Bigfoot festival for fans of the cryptid.

“The Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission shall promulgate rules establishing a Bigfoot hunting season. The Commission shall set annual season dates and create any necessary specific hunting licenses and fees,” the bill states.

The bill, if passed, would take effect from November 1.
