Punjab, GB sign MoU for cooperation in IT sector

LAHORE: The Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan governments on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop the CM Complaint Management System, a web portal and task management system for Gilgit-Baltistan.

Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Chairman Azfar Manzur and Secretary to the GB CM signed the MoU on the occasion of the visit of Gilgit-Baltistan CM Barrister Khalid Khurshid to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at his office.

Mr Buzdar assured the guest of full cooperation to the GB government in IT, health and education sectors. He announced plans to provide training to GB’s paramedical staff in nursing colleges, saying that reservation of quota for the GB students in medical colleges would also be given consideration.

CM Buzdar termed the PTI’s success in GB election a victory of the agenda of change and the vision of the Naya Pakistan.

Upon Mr Buzdar’s assurance to provide every cooperation to GB for its development, the GB CM thanked him for the cooperation, which would further promote brotherhood and unity between federating units.

“We are thankful to the Punjab government for its cooperation in health, education, IT and other sectors,” he said.

Khalid Khurshid presented a traditional GB cap “Shanti” to Buzdar and invited him to visit Gilgit-Baltistan to watch a polo match. Usman Buzdar accepted the invitation and said that he would visit GB soon. He also gifted a traditional stick of tribal areas to CM Khalid Khurshid.

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid, SACM Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and others were also present.
