NOWSHERA: Provincial minister for irrigation Liaquat Khattak, who is a brother of federal defence minister Pervez Khattak, has called himself a powerless minister, and has sought to meet Prime Minister Imran Khan to apprise him of the ‘facts’.

“I want to tell each and every thing to Prime Minister Imran Khan that who is running my ministry,” he said while addressing a public meeting at Pir Sabaq village here on Saturday.

The minister said the nation had voted them to end corruption in the country, but some elements were busy in corruption.

“I can’t remain silent anymore. The time has come for me to make my party chief and Prime Minister Imran Khan aware about the facts,” he added.

Separately, addressing different gatherings in Nowshera, federal defence minister Pervez Khattak said Indian occupation of Kashmir won’t last long and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would fall into his own trap.

“India will split into different states if Narendra Modi keeps continuing his policies against minorities in India,” he said.

Mr Khattak insisted that he had never engaged in vindictive politics in 35 years of his career and had only served the people. He claimed that he had completed mega development projects worth billions of rupees and tried to resolve basic problems of the people in all the constituencies, including PK-63.

The former KP chief minister urged the people to shun differences and forge unity keeping in mind the current situation in the country and on the borders.

Mr Khattak said the people of Nowshera had always respected him. He claimed that Nowshera district was be the only district in Pakistan where most of the problems of the people stood resolved.
