Osama’s father wants probe reports made part of challan

ISLAMABAD: The father of a youth who was killed by officials of the capital police on Jan 2 filed a petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking direction to the prosecution for making reports of the judicial inquiry and the joint investigation team (JIT) as part of the challan submitted to the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC).

Nadeem Younis, father of Osama Satti, also sought custody of both the reports.

The petitioner through his counsel adopted before the court that the JIT and the judicial probe of the incident in which his son was killed by police officials had been completed but the reports had neither been shared with him nor placed on the judicial record.

The petition cited the chief commissioner and the inspector general of Islamabad police as respondents.

The court issued notices to the respondents and put off hearing till March 5.

As per the FIR registered by Satti’s father, his son Osama had a quarrel with officials of the capital police a day earlier and the latter had threatened him with dire consequences.

“On Jan 2, at around 2am, Osama had gone to drop his friend at H-11. When he was returning, the police officials intercepted his vehicle and fired at him from all sides, which resulted in his death.”
