PTCL internet

THE information technology has changed the living trends globally, but Pakistan has a different tale to tell. The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), being the pioneer and leading service provider in the country, is cutting a sorry figure for some time with poor service provision, frequent price hikes in packages, ignoring rural areas in inclusive upgradation and misleading its consumers.

I am based in Hafizabad (User number: 0547-534035), and have been using the PTCL services for the last two decades. Despite paying hefty charges and taxes, I cannot achieve downloading speeds beyond 3Mbps.

It is disappointing that the PTCL charges Rs1,710 for 3Mbps and Rs1,790 for 6Mbps ((excluding taxes).

If the PTCL can’t provide high-speed internet, the least it can do is to cap prices at a certain limit for such low-speed areas. It is extremely unfair that it is increasing tariffs regularly, but is not upgrading infrastructure for the provision of better services.
