Garbage removed from Tanda Dam Wildlife Park

KOHAT: The wildlife department and the tehsil municipal administration on Sunday removed garbage from the Tanda Dam Wildlife Park to keep the environment healthy for the visitors.

The daylong cleanliness and awareness campaign was led by conservator wildlife Syed Kamal, district wildlife officer Abdul Samad, sub-divisional wildlife officer Shabbir Ahmed and TMA officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Syed Kamal asked the people to dump garbage at the designated places. He also distributed pamphlets among the visitors.

Additional deputy commissioner Bashir Ahmed and KDA project director Khan Azad Khan planted a sapling in the park to kick off a tree plantation drive under the Green and Clean Pakistan initiative.

Meanwhile, a water sports festival will be held in the Tanda Dam on April 2.

The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the cooperation of the Pakistan Army is holding the event as water jets and boats have already been brought to the dam to provide entertainment opportunities to the visitors.

In a statement issued by Ehsan Ayaz, PRO to adviser to chief minister MPA Ziaullah Bangash, said the water jets and boats were provided by the provincial government. He said the festival would be opened by the CM’s adviser.

TEST POSTPONED: Etea test for police constable posts was postponed due to rain on Sunday.

A statement said 4,530 candidates from Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Kurram, Orakzai and Darra Adamkhel had applied for the posts.

It said the candidates would be informed about the new date for the test through SMS.
