Navy’s help sought to recover tourist’s body
MANSEHRA: The district administration has sought the help of Pakistan Navy to recover the body of a newly-married woman tourist from Sanghar, who drowned in Kunhar River while taking a photo the other day.
“The Rescue 1122 and local divers are trying to trace the body of the woman tourist, but rough weather and rains have been hampering the operation,” deputy commissioner Qasim Ali Khan, who supervised the rescue operation in Batakundi area of Kaghan valley, told mediapersons on Thursday.
“We have been expecting the Pakistan Navy’s divers shortly who would take part in the ongoing search operation,” he said.
The deputy commissioner said that drone would also be used in the search.
Saima, who was on a honeymoon trip along with her husband Khalilur Rehman, a lawyer from Sanghar area of Sindh, had slipped into the Kunhar River when the latter was taking her picture on rock in Malkandi area of Kaghan valley.
HOUSE BURGLED: Robbers deprived a family of gold jewellery, foreign currency and electronic gadgets worth over Rs10 million after locking the inmates in a room in Kanger Mera area here in the wee hours on Thursday.
The robbers, according the affected family, barged into the house of one Anwar Ahmad and after locking him and other family members in a room at gunpoint decamped with gold jewellery, 2,500 Kuwaiti dinars and other valuables. The family has lodged an FIR with the Saddar police.
