14 hurt in cylinder blast, roof collapse

PESHAWAR: Fourteen persons were injured in an explosion at a gas cylinder shop and a roof collapse here the other day.

Rescue 1122 spokesperson Bilal Ahmed Faizi said on Friday that the explosion occurred in a cylinder shop in Tedi Pump area of Yakatoot locality, injuring nine people. A car and a rickshaw were also damaged in the blast.

He said the injured were shifted to the burns centre in Hayatabad.

Separately, five people were injured when roof of a house collapsed in Wahid Ghari area. Mr Faizi said the roof collapse trapped six persons underneath the debris who were pulled out by the rescuers.
