PML-N berates govt
LAHORE: PML-N Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has become a security risk for the country as he is not fit to hold the post.
Flanked by Rana Sanaullah, Azma Bokhari, Atta Tarar, Samiullah Khan and Rana Arshad, Mr Iqbal told a presser here on Friday that the country was on fire for three days because of the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan protest and Mr Khan was busy planning demolition of the Jati Umra residence of the Sharif family.
“Under this premier, the country’s economy has been destroyed and there is no foreign policy. Imran Khan is totally unfit to run the country. A psychiatric board should be constituted to examine him,” he said.
Rana Sanaullah warned the chief secretary, Lahore commissioner and the Board of Revenue top officials from conducting any illegal activity regarding tampering with the record of the Sharif family residence on the alleged pressure of PM Khan or his adviser, Shahzad Akbar. He said the PML-N would respond strongly if the government even dared thinking about demolishing the residence of the Sharifs or any other PML-N leader.
“The chief secretary and commissioner and their families have to live here. Imran Khan’s children are already abroad and he too will flee the country soon. So they must not do anything illegal under pressure,” he said.
The PML-N leader said the Punjab government was checking the ownership record of the Sharifs’ residence dating back to the 1960s. “At that time, the entire Lahore’s land was state land,” Sanaullah said, adding if the Banigala residence of Imran could be regularised in Rs1.2 million than the Sharifs could also pay Rs2.5m for it.
Mr Tarar said Shahzad Akbar would be sent to jail for what he was doing. He also warned the Federal Investigation Agency against harassing PML-N workers otherwise the party could protest outside its offices.
