Ehsaas registration desks to be set up in every tehsil
ISLAMABAD: The government has planned to set up Ehsaas registration desks in every tehsil over the next three months to enable poor families to get themselves registered for the financial assistance of Rs2,000 per month.
The ongoing Ehsaas survey is now 82 per cent complete in some districts and 38pc in Gilgit-Baltistan. When the survey reaches 70pc in each district the registration centres will be established in every tehsil for the enlistment of people who are eligible for the assistance but have been missed for one reason or the other.
During a meeting also attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishter on Saturday, GB Chief Minister Khalid Khursheed was briefed about the features of the survey and how GB can benefit from it.
The android-based Ehsaas survey is progressing smoothly in GB and it will be completed by June 30, 2021.
In addition, programmatic collaboration was discussed in detail. The ongoing Ehsaas Kafalat operations in GB were discussed and it was explained to the CM that all arrangements in GB around Ehsaas Kafalat had been organised in consultation with the GB government. Ehsaas managers sought a collaboration of the CM for smooth operations.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Dr Sania Nishter said: “A detailed programmatic road map is being discussed over the next three days to expand Ehsaas Nashonuma and primary education conditional cash transfer programme in GB. A wrap-up meeting is planned for next week.
