Boarding school to be set up in Koh-i-Suleiman, says Buzdar
LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has announced that a state-of-the-art boarding school will be set up in Koh-i-Suleiman where quality education with boarding and lodging facilities will be provided to students.
Chairing the 33rd meeting of Punjab Danish Schools and Centres of Excellence Authority at the chief minister’s office on Sunday, Mr Buzdar said offering quality education to all was the government’s vision. He said Danish Schools were providing opportunities to students to express their abilities.
He also expressed satisfaction that coronavirus standard operating procedures were being thoroughly ensured at Danish Schools. Terming their performance satisfactory, he said they were imparting quality education to poor but intelligent children in the backward areas.
Schools Education Minister Dr Murad Raas said the government was making serious efforts to bring the standard of education in government schools on a par with private schools.
Danish School Authority Vice Chairperson Samira Ahmed said the Danish Schools and Centres of Excellence Authority was providing opportunities of quality education to every child. The meeting was further informed that new Danish Schools in Tandlianwala and Hasilpur would start soon. It was briefed that the historic building of Lady Anderson School in Sialkot had been restored to its original condition.
The meeting was told that 36 students of Danish Schools had got admission to medical colleges and 250 were admitted to engineering universities on merit. Under the Clean and Green Punjab, 40,000 more saplings will be planted in Danish Schools.
MPA Khadija Omar, the schools education secretary and other officials concerned attended the meeting.
