Gas outages trouble Mingora residents
SWAT: Residents of Mingora have complained about low pressure of gas and its unannounced outages during Sehr and Iftar.
They said the affected areas included Rang mohallah, Gumbat Maira, Malookabad, Raja Abad, Panr and other suburbs. They said that the problem of low gas pressure had started with the advent of Ramazan. The residents of these areas told to this correspondent that they had complained about the issue to the SNGPL officials and local MPA, but despite their assurances the problem still persisted.
“The government has announced that there will no loadshedding of gas and electricity during Ramazan, but we are experiencing gas outages from the last about a week,” said Farooq Ahmad, a resident of Rang mohallah.
The local people said that they faced problems in preparing food during Sehr and Iftar due to the gas loadshedding. “There is virtually complete disconnection of gas supply at Iftar and I have to cook food for Iftar by using firewood which is troublesome,” said Sakina Bibi, a resident of Rang mohallah.
“The gas loadshedding at Iftar and low pressure at Sehr forced me to buy LPG cylinder to prepare meals due to which we have to pay additional expenses,” said Inayatur Rehman, a resident of Malookabad.
The residents also complained against the elected representatives for their silence over the issue and demanded of the government to take immediate action and ask the relevant department to ensure smooth supply of gas.
