Women complain of cash deduction at Ehsaas centres

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Women have complained about illegal deductions of Rs500-Rs1,000 from the money paid to them at the Ehsaas Kafalat centres here.

Talking to mediapersons on Saturday, they alleged that the device operators deducted certain amounts from the money paid to them.

They further alleged that the device operators had private persons seated at the entrance to the Kafalat centres who only allowed the women in if they had brokers.

The women also complained about lack of water, washroom and seating arrangement at the Ehsaas Kafalat centres, saying they were forced to stand in long queues under the hot sun for receiving the aid.

After the complaints emerged, assistant commissioner, Paharpur, Rao Hashim Azeem visited an Ehsaas Kafalat centre in Syed Aliyaan area and got arrested a retailer namely Obaidullah for taking money from women.

The assistant commissioner said that he was continuously receiving complaints of deduction of money at the four payment centres set up in the Paharpur tehsil.
