Pakistan reduces foreign airlines’ flights to 120 per week

RAWALPINDI: After reducing the number of inbound flights to 20 per cent as part of measures to halt the spread of Covid-19 from May 5 to 20, Pakistan has also slashed the number of foreign airlines’ flights to 120 per week.

Currently, 29 foreign airlines have been operating 590 flights per week to Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Faisalabad, Sialkot and Multan.

The Air Arabia has been operating 60 flights weekly to Pakistan but it will now reduce its flights to 12 per week. Air China will reduce its flights to only one from seven weekly. British Airways, which is currently operating 11 flights, will reduce the number to two. China Southern is operating nine flights, but it will reduce them to only two. Emirates is operating 67 weekly flights but now it will reduce them to 13 and Etihad Airways, which is currently operating 32 flights, will reduce them to six.

Fly Baghdad is operating four flights but now it will operate only one per week. Fly Dubai is operating 78 flights weekly and it will operate 16 flights now. Fly Nas, which is operating 14 flights, will operate three flights. Gulf Air is currently operating 35 flights, but it will operate seven flights weekly. Iran Air, which is operating one flight, will continue to operate one flight weekly. Iraq Airways is currently operating six flights, but it will operate only one flight per week and Jazeera Airways, which is operating five flights, will be operating one flight weekly.

Kam Air is currently operating five flights but it will operate one flight a week. Kuwait Airways, which is currently operating seven flights, will operate only one flight per week. Mahan Air is operating four flights but it will operate one flight weekly. Malindo Air is operating seven flights but it will operate

one flight per week. Oman Air, which is operating 18 flights, will operate four flights a week, while Pegasus Airlines, which is operating four flights, will operate only one flight per week.
